Have you ever read 'The wonderful wizard of Oz'? What do you think about it?

The wonderful wizard of Oz by Lyman Frank Baum is one of my favorite book.
As I prefer reading fantasy book so that I try to read this book even it is written in English.
Oh, I forget to tell that I read this book since I was 15 years old and at that time
I am not quite good at English. Reading this book make me realize that no place is better than home. Moreover, I'm very impressed in the friendship of each characters in the story.

I heard that there is a film version for this book. "Wizard of Oz" I think.
It is very famous. It seems that every Americans knows about this book.
I think Dorothy is the main character, right? And there are coward Lion, heartless Tin man and A Scarecrow, I don't know what is his problem.
